The collections consist of a wide range of material including manuscripts, early printed books, photographs, art on paper, papyrus, parchment and archives, requiring a wide range of approaches to conservation. In addition to interventive treatments, the Collection Care team carry out preventative work which includes the creation of bespoke archival boxes for ensuring safe storage of the most vulnerable books. The team also make custom display mounts for events and exhibitions.
