Hello Cambridge. It's Thursday — it's Treat Day. Come get your fix of thee finest without the burden of guilt!
Headlining at Blue Moon are Glaswegian experimental chamber pop oddballs PETER CAT, bringing their so-intimate-it's-almost-too-much-I-think-I-need-five-minutes live show to Cambridge for the very first time. Expect a truly unique live performance incorporating loop pedals, electric violins quadrupled up into quasi-orchestras, vintage synthesisers, bass-baritone vocals, lyrical bathos, terrible shirts, but with surprisingly high-quality songs buried underneath all that unnecessary self-deprecation. The Metaphorical Boat have called them «wonderfully jaunty yet intellectually deep [with] just the right… mix of brilliance and weirdness», while Francophone blog Piggeldy Pop remarked upon their «fruity talent for composition» (something may have been lost in translation over the Channel). FFO: The Divine Comedy, Pulp, Sparks, Momus, sounding like you know what you're talking about when you really don't have a clue. In support are five-piece Cambridge-via-London-and-back-again indie-pop magnificents MODEL VILLAGE, who have cemented their status as top-tier UK indiepop talent with a tireless gigging schedule over the past few years. Their album 'Healing Centre' was positively pelted with praise from the metaphorical pages, with Exclaim! describing their work as “thoughtful and sophisticated indie pop that’ll certainly appeal to fans of Camera Obscura, Belle & Sebastien and Prefab Sprout”, while Eardrums Music went one further with «The perfect pop album I have waited for!“ Watch their video for 'Back Together' here: youtube.com/watch?v=jpu-F4Uh5dI
