Clemantine Wamariya is a member of the Board of Directors at Women for Women International. Born in Rwanda, she was six years old when the Rwandan Genocide took place; she migrated through Africa to escape the massacres. She was later granted asylum in the United States and went on to graduate from Yale University. She has spoken at the UN, TEDxYale, and on the Oprah Winfrey show about her experiences.
