A fun-filled, fact-finding, family day out showcasing the fascinating world of plants and the science they support. Cambridge University Botanic Garden will be brimming with spring colour as it becomes a hive of activity with something for everyone: free Garden tours, ask-the-gardener and pop-up plant science stalls where University researchers will share how they are using plant science to address global problems, such as do viruses manipulate plants at attract insects and how genes move to create diversity in plants and nature. There will also be regular talks on topics such as sonic pollination, invasive species and Darwin’s ‘abominale mystery’.
There will be specialist plant stalls, children's activities in the Schools' garden fete, growing advice, the Cambridge Orchid Society's annual show, live music and pop-up food and drink on offer from CaffeMobile, Jack’s Gelato, Guerilla Kitchen and Pizza-Mondo.
Normal Garden admission applies — tickets can be bought in advance at the Garden to avoid the queues.
