Enterprise Tuesday: Sharing is Caring, Or Is It? Who Owns a Startup
Please join us at the first Easter term session of the Enterprise Tuesday series, with guest panelists Simon Galbraith, Redgate and Alex Van Someren, Amadeus.
This session will offer two different stories on how the founders split the shares of their start-up. What were the challenges that they faced and how do you avoid falling out? This is about valuing different roles, being transparent and agreeing things up front. However, every scenario is different and how do you gauge what is fair against the interests of the company?
About Enterprise Tuesday:
Enterprise Tuesday is free to attend and open to all University of Cambridge staff and students, members of other universities and the business community. The series is particularly relevant for postgraduate students considering future career paths, those exploring entrepreneurial opportunities and looking to build high quality networks with experts and practitioners. It is also a chance for the business community to mix with the next generation of talent and hear from successful entrepreneurs.
This Enterprise Tuesday programme for 2017/2018 will run across two more terms from 6 February 2017 to 22 May 2018 across three terms.
“Enterprise Tuesday is more than a series of talks! It is a platform for the exchange of ideas, the beginning of collaborative relationships, and the promotion of entrepreneurship.” Dr Stella Pachidi, Lecturer in Information Systems, Cambridge Judge Business School
Each Enterprise Tuesday event consists of a lecture by our visiting speaker(s) for approximately an hour-and-a-half, followed by a further hour of networking with your peers, members of the entrepreneurial community and business professionals.
We advise attendees to arrive as early as possible in order to ensure a seat.
The lectures will cover some of the practical skills that are needed to successfully commercialise an idea. These lectures are delivered by a number of successful and experienced entrepreneurs.
This represents an opportunity to network with guest speakers and other aspiring entrepreneurs.
