Cambridge HEMA are pleased to announce our first major weekend workshop, hosting Jens Peter Kleinau (Zornhau, Fechtfabrik, etc) for two days of study on medieval fencing. Jens has been recognised as the Best Instructor/Interpreter in 2017 by the HEMA Scholar awards and is particularly noted for his work on Talhoffer.
The programme for the weekend is still being discussed, but is likely to feature fencing with both longsword and messer, drawn from various sources.
Our venue will be a training hall at the Cambridge University Sports Centre. These are large and well-lit rooms, with good on-site facilities (showers, changing rooms, etc). There are decent bus connections to central Cambridge and the railway station.
We anticipate a cost of about £30-35 for the weekend of fencing. Booking will open shortly once we've finalised a few more details. There will be space for approximately 20 students.
For the moment, please mark the date in your calendars!
