Professor David Ricks graduated in Classics and Philosophy from Christ Church, Oxford and was awarded his doctorate by the University of London.

He has been teaching Modern Greek & Comparative Literature at King's College London since 1989, and is the author of a plethora of books and publications, as well as editor of several anthologies. In addition, he has taken part in broadcasts on the History Channel, as well as BBC Radio 3 & 4.

Prof. Rick's readings are in versions of his own, seeking to bring out the variety in C20 Greek Voices (and reveal some unexpected connections between them), and will range from Cavafy, Palamas, and Ritsos to Vayenas and Seferis.

We are delighted to host Dr. Liana Giannakopoulou, lecturer of Modern Greek Literature in the MML faculty of the University of Cambridge, as chair for the event and discussion.

The talk will be held in the Green Room at Gonville & Caius College, and will be followed by a wine reception to give attendees the opportunity to meet Prof. Ricks, and discuss some of his work.
