We are thrilled to announce we will be playing in Cambridge on Friday February 9th with an incredible line up alongside FutureLives, Grieving and the mighty Tuskar.
Please join us for an epic evening of live music and a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
Please help spread the word and we can't wait to see you all there!
Featuring ex-members of The Tupolev Ghost (Big Scary Monsters) and Victory Points, our debut EP, «Demonstrations», saw 4 of its 5 tracks supported by the likes of Dan P Carter, Huw Stephens and Tom Ravenscroft at BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6 and extensive support at BBC Introducing.
«My Friend, The Ghost» was included in Already Heard, Kerrang! and Oklahoma's Lefty's best tracks of 2016.
With an eventual album in mind, 5 more songs were recorded with Bob Cooper (Nai Harvert, Self Defense Family, Citizen) in Leeds in early 2017 — two of these, «Brian Emo» and «Start Young», have since seen the light of day, both of which also secured plays on Radio 1's Rock Show and premieres with Washed Up Emo and Kerrang!..
Future Lives is a solo project from multi-instrumentalist Ross Smithwick of Lonely The Brave. Having spent much of the last year writing and recording his own material, he has put together a live band and in his own words: “it’s time to start sharing that music with the world”
Relatively new to the fold having formed less than a year ago by vocalist/drummer Tyler Hodges and guitarist Tom Dimmock, this October saw the official release of Arianrhod, the debut EP from Milton Keynes’ nastiest “nuclear sludge” duo, Tuskar.
Signed to Riff Rock Records – the UK’s leading purveyors of sludge, doom and stoner rock – Tuskar’s arrival completes a hard rock triptych of artists currently residing on the London-based label; together with afro-psych trio Vodun and the quite frankly, fuck-knows-whatery of fuzz-masters Chubby Thunderous Bad Kush Masters.
For Hodges and Dimmock the chemistry they share is unmistakable, both live and in the studio. Having grown up listening to the likes of Conan, Sleep, Behemoth and Darkthrone, at only twenty years of age both bring an energy and savagery that could potentially mark Sludge Metal’s future as forever theirs.
“We’re really excited to be a part of Riff Rock,” explains Hodges. “We can’t wait for this chapter of our journey to start, and we can unleash the riff upon the masses.”
Arianrhod by Tuskar was released on 20th October 2017 via Riff Rock Records.
The Grey have come to the table with a debut release which is very strong with just the right balance of ambience and sheer ferociousness. Those moments that are heavy are just that. Those with a thirst for great riffs will be more than catered for and if groove is your thing you check that box too. It’s not often bands come to the table with such well-produced and expertly crafted music.
