Cambridge Buddhist Centre
38 Newmarket Road, CB5 8DT Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
An exhibition of images by eight Buddhist photographers using their practice to uncover the beauty in the transience of all things.
Come and join us for the special Cambridge Open Studios exhibition weekend, on 22 and 23 July. You can meet all the photographers and enjoy browsing the gallery of framed pictures, while enjoying lunch or cake and drinks. Meditation taster sessions and related activities are being run regularly throughout the weekend.
Alongside the 17 photographs that were selected for framing at the exhibition will be a digital display during the weekend showing many more beautiful images that demonstrate the Buddha’s teachings on impermanence and insubstantiality.
A new range of 52 greetings cards by the eight photographers is available now and during the exhibition, from the Centre’s bookshop.
On the Saturday lunchtime, the Wandering Yak will be on the Centre forecourt serving it’s award winning middle-eastern and Indian inspired vegetarian street food for you to eat in the centre. And on Sunday a Sangha team will be serving lunch.
Busy that weekend? The photographs are already hanging throughout the foyer, until the end of August, Monday – Friday 10am – 1pm, or by appointment 01223 577553. And you'll be able to view them when you come along to the centre for your classes, study groups and other events.
Cambridge Sangha Photographers are Vilokini, Shakya Kumara, Ray McMurray, John Turner, Ian Collins, Ratnagarbha, Imogen Tennison and Jeremy Peters. This Fleeting World follows the success of their first annual photography exhibition in summer 2016, Ordinary Beauty.
Exhibition details: Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July 2017, 11am to 6pm. More: buddhistphoto.com
