Summer School Programme:
Day 1: Profile of a social reformer.
Starting with leading figures of the Reformation, and going on to consider more recent social reformers such as Henry Dunant and Pandita Ramabai, we explore what it takes to be someone God uses to make a lasting impact in society. You will be inspired hearing about the stories of men and women in the past who've made a big impact on society.
Day 2: Strategy for social reform.
Many people want to see social justice, but what is a specifically Christian and biblical approach to changing society? We will explore the biblical and relational framework for social reform advocated by the Jubilee Centre, and consider case studies from different areas of society.
Social reform includes everything from engaging with the legislative processes at local and national levels, engaging with middle institutions like schools and companies, to working to bring about changes in people's values and attitudes.
We will have seminars in the afternoon covering subjects like politics, business and social media.
Day 3: ‘Where do I start?’
Through a comprehensive workshop you will learn how to define the problem, build a team and design a strategy for making a lasting impact on people’s lives and wider society.
Without strategy, social reform will not happen.
