Two Nights of Arabic food this June.
I do my best to copy my mother’s recipes, and so far I’m not far off. Come join us for home cooked Arabic food. What we cook is what we eat at home in Jordan and not in restaurants which makes this experience so special!
Hummos: Mashed chickpeas with tahini, garlic, lemon and cumin;
Tabouleh: finely chopped salad mixed with couscous.
Baba ghanouj: Slow baked aubergine, gutted and mixed with garlic tahini, chillies and parsley
Yalanji: Rice and veg wrapped in vine leaves and served cold with a slice of lemon
(the mezzeh platter is suitable for vegans and vegetarians)
Spiced Lamb Shanks: this dish is aromatic and very hearty, the shanks are cooked with our special blend of spices, carrots, potatoes, peppers and onions for 3 hours. the shanks should be tender and fall of the bone. This dish is served with vermicelli rice and salad.
Magloubeh (Upside Down): A very traditional Jordanian Rice Dish cooked with carrots, potatoes, aubergines, cauliflowers, green peppers, onions and chicken all cooked in Jordanian spices in one big pot, and once it’s cooked the pot is flipped upside down and the dish is suppose to look like a cake! served with tzatziki.
Okra Stew (Bamieh): this delicious Okra stew is one of my favourite dishes served with Jordanian rice. Its suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians.
