A year on from the EU referendum — and the people of Cambridge have spoken. We still say NO to Brexit!
Join us outside Cambridge Guildhall where speeches will start at 1pm (we're assembling from 12.30) on Saturday 24 June to tell the government that the best deal for this country is to remain a member of the EU!
Do bring: EU flags, National flags, Rainbow flags, banners, placards, and anything blue!
Don't bring: Anything party political...we all need a break from that!
Daniel Zeichner — MP for Cambridge (Labour)
Mike Galsworthy — Scientists for EU
Richard Balfe — Lord Balfe of Dulwich (Conservatives)
Chris Powers — President, Young European Movement
Lucy Nethsinga — Cambridge Liberal Democrats
Jeremy Caddick — Cambridge Green Party
Paul Browne — Chair, Cambridge Stays
The last year has been full of disappointment and determination, victories and setbacks, confusion and resolve, but as we prepare to mark the first anniversary of the EU referendum we are filled with a new hope that the historic mistake of Brexit can be stopped. On June 8 2017 everything changed, it is now up to us to help set the direction of that change.
There never was a mandate for May's form of Brexit and her approach must now be consigned to history. The people of Cambridge and the UK as a whole have demonstrated their rejection of Theresa May's Brexit vision at the polls. Both ‘Hard Brexit’ and Theresa May’s ‘deal or no deal’ proposals must be binned, and we believe that Brexit should be halted altogether.
Please tell your family and friends to come along, and share widely on social media. Lets #StopBrexit!
