Our seasonal series of Science on Sundays talks bring the latest discoveries in plant science to our visitors in a 30 minute nutshell.
There is a lot of interest in plants and algae as a renewable source of energy. Most work concentrates on using them to produce fuel molecules such as bioethanol or biodiesel. This talk by Professor Chris Howe from the Department of Biochemistry will look at how we can produce electricity directly from algae and plants.
Free 30 minute talk held in the Garden Classroom starting 11am and repeated at 2pm, drop in, aimed at age12+. Normal Garden admission applies.
