Cambridge University Botanic Garden
1 Brookside, CB2 1JE Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
The Garden is delighted to host another year of top-notch, open-air music from Cambridge Summer Music. A celebration of summer and music, Sounds Green takes place every Wednesday evening in July on the Garden’s Main Lawn. A perfect opportunity to embrace the wonderful sights, sounds and summer smells with family and friends on a (hopefully) warm and balmy evening. A rug and optional picnic are all that are required to enjoy an array of music beginning at 6.15pm and lasting an hour, with the Garden closing at 8pm. The Garden Café will be serving food and drink; Thirsty will be providing a bar each evening and Jack's Gelato will be serving homemade ice-cream on the Main Lawn.
Westcombe Brass are an exciting and versatile brass quintet based in London. Individually the group are successful young professionals, appearing with most of the major orchestras in this country; together they are a dynamic quintet able to perform works and arrangements spanning hundreds of years, in a variety of different styles. And for this night, they'll be bringing you a selection from Glenn Miller to Gershwin!
No tickets are required but normal Garden admission applies. There will be a retiring collection at the end of each performance towards the musicians' performance fees.
