In this interactive workshop, we will discuss the advising role that academics can play within governmental institutions. To do this, we have invited an expert panel of three speakers and will perform a hands-on exercise to learn how to effectively translate and implement academic research into government practices and policies.

Dr. David Halpern
Chief Executive of the Behavioural Insights Team and Board Director. Previously, David held tenure at Cambridge and posts at Oxford and Harvard; and the author of «Inside the Nudge Unit: How Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference

Dr. Sander van der Linden
University Lecturer in Social Psychology and Director of the Cambridge Social Decision-Making Lab

Dr. Ian McKay
Senior Scientific Officer and Policy Manager at the Department of Health. Ian moved out of academia into health policy, becoming a Health and Science Policy advisor at the British Dental Association.
